The Professional Developers Conference (PDC) is the annual event focused on the technical strategy of the Microsoft developer platform. This November, some 6000 participants gathered to Los Angeles to learn more about the future roadmap of the Microsoft technologies. Focus of the conference was the recently launched Windows 7 operating system and services built on cloud technologies. "Seen from the integration point of view, one of the most interesting release in PDC was the AppFabric - Application Server that provides new application hosting, tracking, and persistence capabilities", says Frends' CEO Aino-Maija Fagerlund, who also participated the conference.
Another innovative PDC publication was the "Dallas" development project that enables new applications also in systems integration: "Dallas" expands services provided by the Azure platform, allowing developers and information workers to easily discover, purchase and manage premium data subscriptions. "Dallas" simplifies for example integration of the public sector services to different background systems by bringing disparate data sets together. Example of the existing "Dallas" applications is BeAMartian project.
