Frends, the European integration platform designed for mission-critical automation, today announces the launch of Frends Enterprise MCP and the latest Frends 6.3 platform. The release addresses one of the most persistent blockers in enterprise AI adoption: the inability to connect AI agents to the custom and legacy systems carrying most business-critical data.
The centerpiece of the release is the Frends MCP Trigger, which allows any existing Frends process to be exposed as a governed AI tool via the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard for AI-to-system communication.
Rather than re-architecting legacy systems to make them AI-compatible, organizations can now add an MCP Trigger to an existing process and create a governed gateway in front of any system. Access to an AI of their choice (Claude, ChatGPT or a locally hosted model) can be done within hours, and no code changes to the underlying system are required.

The 6.3 release also includes an upgraded AI Connector, which supports autonomous AI reasoning loops using the ReAct pattern. Each step in a multi-system workflow is assigned a scoped toolbox — the agent can only call what it has been explicitly authorized to reach, allowing multi-step automations to be production-ready in regulated environments where broad system access is not acceptable.
