Frends, the European integration platform designed for mission-critical automation, today announced the launch of Frends MCP, built on the Model Context Protocol. The capability connects a customer's Frends environment directly to the AI clients their IT and business teams already use, so integrations can be built, changed and diagnosed through conversation.
Enterprise development absorbed AI assistants quickly over the past two years, but integration work stayed outside that shift. Building or changing an integration still means leaving the assistant for the platform interface, finding the right Tasks and translating a suggestion into working configuration by hand.
Frends MCP removes that separation. A developer describes what they need in plain language, and Frends searches the Task catalog, selects and configures the connectors, and returns a complete Process draft. The developer adjusts it, reviews it in the Frends interface and approves it there before it runs anywhere.
The same connection opens the platform's operational record. Every integration estate has its process knowledge lying within a few individuals, and that knowledge tends to disappear when they leave the company. Teams can now ask why a run failed, which processes are slowest and which systems depend on each other, and get an answer from actual execution history rather than from reading logs.
In internal testing, an AI client reading raw data tables consumed approximately 10 million tokens to answer a single query, against a few thousand for the same question handled through the purpose-built tools Frends MCP provides.

Every action taken through Frends MCP is tied to a named user by a personal token that cannot be shared, and that user's existing permissions determine what the AI client can see and do. Drafts and changes are reviewed and approved in the Frends interface before anything reaches production, and every request the AI client makes is logged. The server runs in the cloud or on-premises, including in air-gapped environments.
This is the level of control required by heavily regulated sectors. Public sector organizations, healthcare providers and financial institutions are under pressure to adopt AI while being held to tighter requirements on where their data sits and who can reach it. Frends MCP runs inside the customer's own Frends environment, so platform data stays where the organization already keeps it, under EU data protection rules, and the record of what was asked, what was drafted and who approved it remains available for audit.

Frends MCP is the third agentic capability in the Frends platform. The Frends Enterprise MCP exposes existing Frends Processes as governed AI tools, so agents can reach legacy systems, custom ERPs and internal applications that have no AI interface of their own. The Frends AI Connector reasons across several systems inside a Process, with each step restricted to the tools it has been explicitly granted. Frends MCP completes the picture by opening the platform itself to the same AI clients.
