The Challenge

Migrating data between platforms, especially knowledge bases, can be challenging. Our recent ServiceNow to Confluence migration highlighted this complexity due to the fundamental differences in how each platform structures data. Process Automation with Frends: The team used Frends to automate the migration process. The Frends integration allowed the new Confluence pages to be created via API and the ServiceNow pages were translated and imported into Confluence, with intermediate storage to handle the attachments.

Two-Step Migration Process:

To ensure accuracy and completeness, the migration was divided into two steps:

1: Import the knowledge base pages into Confluence and verify the content.

2: Import the attachments, ensuring they were correctly linked to the relevant Confluence pages.
