Join us at the Frends User Day Hackathon 2026, where developers, integration architects, solution architects, and automation enthusiasts come together to explore the next frontier of enterprise automation.
This year's challenge focuses on AI, Enterprise MCP, and intelligent agents. In just 5 hours, teams will design and build solutions that connect AI to real business processes, transforming ideas into working automations with measurable impact.
Whether you're joining us in Helsinki or participating remotely, you'll collaborate, innovate, compete, and learn alongside some of the brightest minds in the Frends community.
Beyond the challenge itself, you'll enjoy networking opportunities, expert discussions, and plenty of inspiration from fellow builders who share a passion for solving complex problems.

The challenge
The challenge will center around a real-world business use case, where teams will design and build an AI-powered solution using Frends and Enterprise MCP capabilities. Participants will have 5 hours to create, test, and demonstrate a working solution that showcases innovation, automation, and measurable business value.

Do I have to be in Helsinki, Finland, to attend?
No, you have the option to either attend in person in Helsinki or participate online.
How will the online participation work?
You and your teammates will receive a link that will take you to a breakout room where the challenge will take place. There will also be a livestream link for the opening and closing sessions.
How should I register?
All you need to do is fill out the form. Make sure to use your work email address, since private email accounts aren't allowed. If you experience any problems when signing up, please reach out to our team under the Contact section below.
Do I need to be part of a team to register?
No, all registrations are individual. If you don't have a team, we will make sure to assign teammates for you.
Does everyone in a team need to register?
Yes, all registrations are individual. You can enter the team name and participants in each registration, so we can place you in the same team.
How many people can be in a team?
A team should have between 3 and 5 participants.
Do I need to know everything about MCP to participate?
No, this is a chance for you to learn more about how to use MCP in your daily operations with Frends.
Do I need to know how to use Frends to participate?
Yes, the challenge will be within the Frends integration platform, hence it's necessary to be familiar with it.
Where in Helsinki will the event be?

Do I have to stay for the whole day?
The after-work is optional, but we expect you to be present throughout the whole challenge (09.30-17.40 EET).
Can I join the side activities if I'm participating online?
No, the side activities are only for in-person participants.
What is the prize for winning the Hackathon?
TBC
Note: Winners will receive an alternative of equal value, such as gift cards.
What will be the judging criteria?
Projects will be evaluated on a 100-point scale with criteria's like innovation, business impact and platform utilization.
