Kalmar municipality, Sweden, needed to streamline and automate its operations and sought an integration platform to meet its needs. The municipality decided on the Frends integration platform from HiQ.

It is fantastic that another municipality is turning to Frends for help in integrating its various system solutions. We secured our position after the pilot implementation stage. It served as solid proof of our and solution's ability and that integrations can facilitate and enable efficiency for many different types of private and public organizations. We look forward to continued good collaboration with Kalmar Municipality, says Jukka Rautio, Head of HiQs Frends.

In an increasingly digitalized world, many municipalities face major challenges. Kalmar Municipality is turning to HiQ and Frends as a supplier of a new integration platform. The goal is to help Kalmar municipality to simplify and streamline operations by standardizing integrations.

We were choosing between several different suppliers but decided on Frends eiPaaS as the platform had everything we required. The platform has good functions for API management and for integrating and analyzing diverse data. Moreover, the platform is well-positioned in terms of price in comparison to other alternatives. We first heard about the Frends platform from Karlskrona municipality, which also uses this integration solution. We then did a pilot project and thought it worked well. The collaboration has been very smooth. We have received support during the pilot stage, and it has been quick and easy to set up digital environments, and they have been easy to navigate. I would recommend Frends' integration platform to other municipalities, says Håkan Johansson, project manager at Kalmar municipality.

The municipality has a population of just over 70,000 inhabitants, and the number is constantly growing. The information systems in a growing city require flexibility and efficiency. While a city's budget is tight, the public expectations to have new services are growing at an ever-increasing rate. Kalmar municipality wanted to reduce the costs for the development of new digital services and improve the municipality's residents' experience by providing accessible and quick services via the municipality's e-services portal and having a single centralized solution for managing everything.

We wanted to increase accessibility for our residents. We have many e-services on our website with digital forms that forward requests to an administrator. We want to automate and digitalize these processes at the back-end side to achieve actual efficiency. It means that our speed does not slow down even when the pace and quantum of requests grow, and we can respond to residents even quicker. This way, we can do more work with fewer people involved. Overall, this is part of the municipality's digitalization journey, continues Håkan Johansson, project manager at Kalmar municipality.
