The information systems of a growing city require flexibility and efficiency, and as a city, budgets are tight while residents expect new services at an ever-increasing rate. This means that the City of Lohja wanted to cut costs to develop new digital solutions, improve their overall visibility of dataflows and processes and have a single centralized solution to manage everything.
One key goal that the City of Lohja had was to enable the development and maintenance of the integration solutions themselves without the help of a vendor to cut costs and be able to react quickly to error situations and more minor changes that occur in the system landscape.
We have been particularly pleased with the automated e-mail reports, which provide information on the transfer of data, without having to guess whether or not the data has been transferred.

Integration Challenges
In the past, data transfers between Lohja city systems were handled by scripts on local servers, scheduled transfers, and batch runs. In case of errors, it was very challenging to solve the problem.
Additionally, as these legacy data transfers were executed on multiple tools using multiple technologies, managing the dependencies between the data transfers and scripts proved almost impossible.
