As Finland’s largest privately held pet food manufacturer, Prima Pet Premium operates at scale in both retail and private label markets. With operations anchored in Tampere, Prima Pet’s success has been built on product excellence and operational efficiency — but as they expanded digitally, their internal systems began to show strain. 

Like many growing companies, Prima Pet found themselves relying on a patchwork of point-to-point integrations across approximately ten core systems. Over time, this led to a lack of visibility, limited documentation, and growing uncertainty over how data flowed across their environment. As an example, ERP-to-PIM integration proved particularly brittle and difficult to maintain. 

With plans to renew their ERP system and aiming to grow sales in webshop , it became clear: Prima Pet needed a more robust, scalable, and transparent approach to integration.

The onboarding began with a clear, high value use case: integrating product data between their PIM system (Akeneo) and Shopify webshop to support better control over product content and enable growth in online sales. 

This implementation was paired with 3 instructor-led training sessions for their internal team, ensuring Prima Pet could maintain ownership of their integration landscape going forward — a key requirement from the start.
