Frends iPaaS is proud to be a gold partner at KommITS held in Västerås from October 24th to 25th, with a focus on the important topic of cybersecurity. Throughout the event, Frends will explore strategies for how Sweden's municipalities proactively and reactively can manage digital risks, emphasizing the need for a secure digital infrastructure to leverage all possibilities.

KommITS serve as a forum for acquiring new insights, tools, and knowledge to securely drive digitization and deliver the best welfare services. Digitization opens doors to increased productivity, improved services, and strengthens environmental and sustainability efforts — all of which are crucially dependent on a reliable digital infrastructure. The success of a digital transformation, in turn, depends on security, a need made significantly evident by the rise in digital attacks on municipalities.

How can local associations of municipalities work with master data?

Frends iPaaS is a gold partner at KommITS Digitalization Days in Västerås from the 24th to the 25th of October. Together with Tomas Beijar, a solutions architect at Frends, Höglandets IT will elaborate on how Höglandets’ local association of municipalities use master data to streamline and digitize with a security mindset.

"It's a significant challenge to provide quality-assured data in the right format to municipal administrations, but it is achievable. Alongside Höglandets IT, we dive into how to build APIs and new services more easily and securely," says Tomas Beijar.

Höglandets IT operates as a coordinator, enabling efficient and secure collaborations among its five municipalities in Småland: Aneby, Eksjö, Nässjö, Sävsjö, and Vetlanda.

"These municipalities are embarking on a transformative and exciting journey towards the digital service society and cybersecurity is more critical than ever. I’m looking forward to us sharing how we enable both a modern and secure digital infrastructure for our municipalities. Lars Scheibling, one of the programmers at Höglandets IT, will provide you with an overview of how we think and work," says Claes Öster, one of the Production Managers at Höglandets IT.

Jukka Rautio, CEO of Frends, believes that Sweden's municipalities need to keep up the pace of digitization to take advantage of all opportunities and protect themselves from external threats.

"It's both exciting and timely to share expertise about this during KommITS. The progress is happening incredibly fast, and it's essential to keep up. Frends as a partner can facilitate the process for organizations."

The theme for KommITS in October is - Cybersecure Municipalities – How municipalities can manage risks in parallel with the implementation of solutions that are 'Secure by Default'. This aims to promote dynamic and proactive security measures, along with ongoing improvements and validation of the ability to withstand attacks. It includes access to smart digital solutions and services where cybersecurity is integrated by default.

Frends will be located at booth S17 during KommITS in Västerås.
